Henry is my immigrant ancestor coming from what is now Germany. While his obituary says he is a native of Sechelreuth, another source says Kamenz in Saxony. He arrived in Baltimore as Henry Rebhahn aboard the ship Draper on August 2, 1837, listed as a 25-year-old weaver, not traveling with family. He declared his intention to be a citizen in 1839 at the Cumberland, Allegany County courthouse. Henry married Marie Leidinger in Wellersburg PA on 11 March 1847 and they had 15 children. The Rephann family had a farm near the Porter Cemetery where they are buried.
Note that the Tombstone says Henry Rephan but he also used Rephorn with Rephann the most commonly used by his many descendants. Henry's other immigrant cousins in Pennsylvania used Rephahn. The many variations and misspellings can make research difficult.
