Albert Rosato, 85, of Keyport, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. Born in Cliffwood, he resided most of his life in Keyport. He worked at Atco Tile, Keyport for 25 years; then as an automotive machinist with Matty's Auto Parts for 40 years before retiring in May 2008. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Keyport; a life member over 50 years with the Keyport Hook and Ladder Fire Company; and life member and past commander with the VFW Post 4247, Keyport; a member of the Joe Pettinato Bowling League and the Sunday Mixed Masters League. Al served his country in the Army during World War II.
Albert was predeceased by his wife, Stella Raskyasky Rosato, in 1988; his parents, Daniel and Adelaida Pellegrino Rosato; and a sister, Jennie Sardella. Surviving are his children and their spouses, Julius and Maryanne Rosato of Keyport, Theresa and Louis Natarcola of Keyport, Mary Ann and Brian Provini of Atlantic Highlands, Diane Rosato and Thomas Swift of Keyport, and Antoinette and Paul V. Frate of Hazlet; his siblings, Susan Biablocki of South River, Joseph Rosato of Keyport, Henry Rosato of Staten Island, N.Y., Julius Rosato of Ft. Pierce, Fla., and Daniel Rosato of Wall; five grandchildren, Julius Jr., Loretta, Michelle, Robert and Anthony; and six great-grandchildren, Jenna, Amanda, Brianna, Dillon, Hunter and Enza.
Family and friends are invited from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009 at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport; and 8:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at the funeral home, with a 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's R.C.
