Vivian Virginia Thorne, 92, of Days Run Road and formerly of Barrackville died Monday (Jan. 26, 2009) at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. Vivian was born Jan. 8, 1917, at Jakes Run, the daughter of the late Elias Tennant and Olea Pearl Park Tennant Lake. She was a member of the Bethesda Baptist Church in Barrackville and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to all. Surviving are one son and his wife, James E. Thorne and his wife Karol of Days Run; grandson, James E. Thorne II and his wife, Jennifer of Days Run; grandson, Ryan Thorne of Morgantown; step-granddaughter, Whitney Moore of Days Run; brother, Herbert Tennant of Fairview; sister, Jeanette Ammons and her husband, Joe of Rivesville; sister, Jane Jones of Core; brother-in-law, Jack Feley of Daybrook; and several friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Thorne; her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Franklin Sifers; grandson, Franklin Sifers Jr; and two sisters, Velma Tennant and Lucille Feley. Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. David Cyphers officiating. Burial will follow in the McCurdysville Cemetery at McCurdysville.
