Mrs. Roberta Ritchie Cornett, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 79.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Mike Magonigal officiating. Mrs. Cornett will be placed at the church one hour prior to service time Wednesday. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home.
Roberta Ritchie Cornett was born Dec. 9, 1929, in Hardburly, Ky., daughter of William G. and Daucie Ritchie. Mrs. Cornett was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed painting, sewing, writing poetry, and baking.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Curtis Cornett; two sisters, Madeline Gail Ritchie and Grethel Ritchie; two brothers, James Dudley Ritchie and Delbert Ritchie.
Survivors included three daughters, Daucie and Jeff Willson of Tacoma, Wash., Madeline Pandolfi and Lisa Cornett, both of Ozark; one son, William Curtis Cornett of Ozark; one sister, Flora and James Holiday of Rome City, Ind.; one brother, Carl and Barbara Ritchie of Rome City, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark, (334) 774-4551, is in charge of arrangements.
