Edmond "Pat" Hendrix Jr., 56, St. Joseph, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Hendrix was born on Oct. 30, 1951, in St. Joseph, where he was a lifetime resident.
He married Linda A. Morgan on Nov. 17, 1978. She survives of the home.
Mr. Hendrix had a master's degree in criminal justice.
He was the vice-president and a contractor for Glenn Hendrix Construction Inc., and a sergeant at the Western Missouri Correctional Center.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrna Carol (Sturgis) Hendrix.
Mr. Hendrix was a member of the Church of Christ. He was an avid reader and was studying for his doctorate.
Additional survivors: two daughters, Malisa Moree, and husband, Joshua, Overland Park, Kan.; and Jennifer Hendrix, St. Joseph; a son, Aaron Glenn Hendrix, and his wife, Kristy, Kansas City, Mo.; granddaughter, Kelci Strugis Hendrix; grandson, Nico Aaron Hendrix; his father and stepmother, Edmond "Glenn" and Beulah Hendrix Sr.; two brothers; a sister; and a stepbrother.
Service: 1 p.m. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Joseph. Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
