∼Ellis has no middle initial. His parents are Emerine Corder Black and Benjamin Radford Black of Pulaski County KY before emigrating to Truscot, Knox County TX. He married Dovie D Canada, daughter of John Canada and Martha Phillips Canada.
The Death Certificate of their son, Doyce Black shows his parents as Ellis Black and Dovie Canada. As does other children's death certificates. Doyce Black Sr's obituary says his parents are Ellis Black and Dovie Canada.
I do not believe that the memorial of Ellis H Black and Dovie Bingham is totally correct. Dovie Bingham married in 1907 Elec Hodges Black, also known as EH Black and Hoddy Black. They were living in Dallas TX in 1920 census with their children Cora age 11, Horace age 8 and Hazel 4 months.
There is confusion because my Dovie Canada, documented parents of John Canada of KY and his wife Martha Phillips of KY moved to Truscott TX where they had Dovie. Ellis Black, her husband is the son of Emerine Corder Black and Benjamine Black. Emerine is my ancestor. I believe the Black family and the Canada family knew each other in KY as they were from the same area.
