MRS. GERTRUDE E. PIERCE

Mrs. Gertrude Elizabeth Pierce -- died at her home, ____ College, at 2 a. m. yesterday following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Pierce , a life-long resident of Springfield, was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are two sons, Sherma of ___ South avenue and Gorden of Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Florence Henry of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Taylor of Willard and Mrs. Grace Thompson of San Diego; fours brothers, Sam and George Thompson of ___ West Thoman, Clarence Thompson of Tulsa, and Charles of Eldorado, Kan; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pierce was born in Springfield, and lived in the Brighton community.
She was the widow of William Newton Pierce.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday in the Thieme and Son chapel with the Rev. W. L. Murdaugh officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, C. M. Goodwin, Howard L. Goodwin, Charles E. Goodwin, William E. Pierce, Charles C. Arnce, and Hugh Weller.
Burial Will be in Hazelwood cemetery.
