Donald was the youngest son of William Newton Pierce and Gertrude Thompson Pierce. He died from Pellagra, a Vitamin B (niacin) deficiency which was caused by diets high in corn and corn products.

Male, white, single, parents N W Pierce of Georgia and Gertrude Thompson of Missouri. Lohmeyer funeral home. For a birth date the certificate had don't know, age shown as 5yrs only.
