Funeral services were held Sunda, April, 8, at two o'clock in the afternoon at Washington's First Baptist Church for Mrs. Alta Emeline Hardcastle, who died Friday at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 14 days. Rev. Bill Blair officiated for the service and interment was in the Washington Cemetery.
Born May 23, 1895 in Johnson County, Arkansas, she was married to Jim Hardcastle who preceded her in death. She moved to Oklahoma from Arkansas 50 years ago and was a member of a Baptist church in Arkansas.
Her survivors include two daughters, Arona Fore and Pauline Hardcastle both of Washington; three sons, H. C. Hardcastle of Purcell, Willie D. Hardcastle of San Antonio, Texas; and Bob Hardcastle of Moore. Also, two sisters, Clara and Imogene both of Arkansas; and two brothers, Rube Stumbaugh of Clarksville, Arkansas and Owen Stumbaugh of Hagarville, Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
