Burial was in the Lakeview cemetery with the Miguez funeral home in charge. Eastern Star graveside rites were held. Pallbearers were Wayland Welch, Jeff Densmore, C. E. Reddell, Tommy Mack, Ralph Lyon and Robert Doland.
Mrs. Potter died at her home at 7 a.m. Sunday, following an illness of about a month. She was born Ethel Lewis, May 28, 1888, in Sweetwater, Texas, but had been a resident of the Lake Arthur area most of her life.
She was the widow of C. C. Potter, a rice farmer, who died October 8, 1939. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Methodist church in Lake Arthur.
Surviving are three sons, Ralph of Lake Arthur, Burt of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Cecil of Port Arthur, Texas; two daughters, Miss Dorothy Potter of Lake Arthur and Mrs. Floyd Gibbs of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, P. M. Lewis of Crowley and Oscar Lewis of Broken Arrow, Okla.
