Edith Horne, 84, a resident of Regent Street,
passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at the Northside General Hospital. Born in North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Murray Dodd and Catherine Ann (Beaton) Horne. Edith was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Hebert, North Sydney; three grandchildren, Joanne, Sandra and Gayle. Also surviving are seven greatgrandchildren and two greatgreat-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Mary and Annie and a brother, Bill Horne. Visitation for Edith will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ritchie Robinson officiating. Burial to follow in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Fund of Nova Scotiaand the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
