Albert Penny was the third youngest son of William Warren ( Billy) Penny and Sarah Pandora Cardwell Penny. He was born in 1900, a new century. He tried to get in the service with one of his brothers but had to get out when they found out he was too young. He had a rough life being taller than his age where people thought he was older than he was. When dad and mom, Sadie Lou got married in 1944, was a blessing in disguise. He stayed with all his children until mom died in 1951, where he put us in an orphanage, since he did not know whether he could take care of us all by his self. When I was 16, I got to stay with him for a little while . In 1975, he was put in a nursing home where someone else was able to take care of him. While we were at the orphanage, he would help take care of the people where he lived, for Christmas, instead of coming to see us, he would make sure that the other children had something for Christmas. I heard all kinds of good things about him then. Guess he was a great father in that sense. I love my dad. When I got married, the nursing home ,let us get married there, so dad could be in it. The people there all had a wonderful time because that was the first time anyone wanted to have a wedding there.
