RESIDENT DIES
Lewis Springer Dies Sunday
At Home of Son in Ohio
Lewis A. Springer, 81, former well known St. Mary's township farmer, died Sunday morning at 12:15 o'clock at the home of a son, Clyde Springer at Cairo, Ohio
Death was attributed to carcinoma, following an extended illness. His condition has been serious for the past few weeks.
Mr. Springer was born in Wren, Ohio, June 23, 1858, the son of William and Sufanna Springer. His wife, Esther, preceded him in death four years ago.
He had retired from active farming a number of years ago and had been making his home with the son for some time. He was a member of the Wren U. B. church and fraternally was affiliated with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Surviving besides the son, Clyde, are the following children: Mrs. Dove Flealer of Celina. Ohio; Mrs. William Miller of Bluffton; Charles Springer of Rockford, Ohio; Mrs. Fred Enge and Mrs. Walter Eichar, both of Decatur; Virgil of Lima, Ohio and Mrs. Velma Smith of River, Montana. Two brothers, Melvin of Kansas, Missouri, and Albert of Toledo, Ohio, also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock (Central standard time) at the Wren U. B. church and burial will be in the church cemetery.
