Abram Persons was born in June 1824, in Ohio. On July 27, 1845, he wed Lucy Jane Frasier in Chautauqua County, New York, by Harrison H Fenton, J.P.

Abram and Lucy Jane had six children:

1. William H. b. abt Jan 1847, in Michigan. He served with the 4th Michigan Cavalry and died of disease on 17 Mar 1864.

2. Mary Jane b. May 1849, Birmingham, Oakland, Michigan. She married George Pettengill and they had four children.

3. George C, b. 14 Dec 1852, in Michigan. He wed Louella J "Ella" Goodfellow, 31 Dec 1874, Flushing, Michigan, and had 6 children.

4. Susan Ruth, b. 08 Nov 1853, in Hazelton, Shiawassee, Michigan; married Charles Eugene Quick, and had 6 children.

5. Janette H "Nettie", b. 24 May 1857, in Michigan; married Charles Albert Russell

6. Luke Howard, b. 17 Mar 1858, Mt Morris, Genesee, Michigan. He wed Jennie Thomas, daughter of James & Mary (Pettengill) Thomas, and they had 5 children.

In 1850, the Abram Person family is living in Venice, Shiawassee, Michigan, in the home of his in-laws, Philip & Phebe Frasier.

In 1860, they are in Mt. Morris Twp, Genesee, Michigan, and all six children are listed in the household.

Abram Persons of Flushing, Michigan, enlisted in Company C, 16th Infantry, on Aug 19, 1861, at Flint, age 35, mustered August 21, 1861. This company was called the "Flushing Light Artillery" and served under Capt. Thomas C Carr.

Abram died April 13, 1862 (or the 15th, it's found under both dates) at Union Hospital, Georgetown, DC. He died of disease - probably dysentery.
