J. D. Ernest Pewthers was born August 6, 1887 in Montague county, Texas near Sunset.
He moved with his parents to Mountain View, August 10, 1896 to the home place where his father now resides.
He was married to Iciedor Clara Lynch October 17, 1906. To this happy family seven children were born: John Davis, Mrs. Iantha Frank, Ernestine, Keith, Morris, Robert, Leonard and two grandsons, Elmer and Ernest Charles Frank.
All of these children are living except John Davis who preceded his father in death.
He joined the Baptist church at Star at the age of seventeen but later removed his membership to the Baptist church at Mountain View to be with his children.
Besides his wife and children who mourn his going are his father, J. W. Pewthers and brothers, William and Jesse of Mountain View; J. A. Pewthers and Mrs. Murt L. McAtee of Oklahoma City and B. D. Pewthers of Pauls Valley who was reared in the home.
