Mrs. Onelia Mary Savoie Matherne, a resident of 300 Marmande St., died Thursday, Jan 3 at 8 am at her home. She was 81.
She was the wife of the late Mr. Prevail Matherne and mother of LeRoy Matherne,
Mrs. Viola Tollefson, Mrs. Verna Caskey, Mrs. Rita Traweek and Mrs. Merril Marcel, all of Houma. Mrs. Magorie Stear of New Iberia and the late Morris Matherne and the late Mrs. Mildred Winders.
She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Matherne was a Gold Star Mother of the American Legion Lenox-Hotard Unit 31 and held membership in the Women's Christian Association.
Services for Mrs. Matherne was Jan 5 at Houma
Heights Methodist Church, with interment at Matherne Cemetery at Bayou Blue.
