Mrs, Caroline Blumenthaler, aged
73 years, died at her home, 315 Syca-
more street, yesterday morning at 11
o'clock. The deceased was born February
7, 1840, in Germany and came to
this country at the age of 13 years,
settling soon after in Logansport. In
1863 she married Frederick Blumen-
thaler and, seven children, were born
to this union, five of whom survive
namely. Mrs. John Boerger of Logans-
port, Mrs. Conrad Feiling and Mrs.
John Henricksen of Chicago and the
Misses Ella and Bertha Btanenthaler
of this city.
More than thirty years she had been
a sufferer, but she always bore her
sufferings with patience and was even
more concerned about the welfare of
her many friends and relatives than
that of herself. Last Thursday her
illness took a decided turn for the
worse. Everything that could be done
was done, but she did not rally and
yesterday morning death peacefully
to relieve her suffering.
Funeral services are to be held from
her late home, 515 Sycamore street,
on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30
o'clock, conducted by the Rev. H. E.
Stuehm of St. James Lutheran church,
and interment will be made in Mt.
Hope cemetery. It was the request of
the deceased that flowers be omitted
at her funeral.
