Reynold and Catherine came to the United States in 1882.
He was educated in Scotland and is a graduate of Thompson Academy.

Reynold came to the United States at the age of 20 and worked in the mines until he purchased his 1st hotel in 1904, The Mountain House in Janesville, Pa. He owned and operated the house ranked among the finest hostelries in the state until 1912.

On June 3, 1912, he purchased the St. James Hotel in Nanty Glo, PA., where he and his wife lived out their lives and successfully operated.

Reynold was a Republican, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge #1173 in Phillipsburg, Loyal Order of Moose # 154 in Osceola Mills, PA and the Knights of St. George. He is a respected citizen of Nanty Glo with many a friend.

Reynolds parents and siblings remained in Scotland, only his sister Rachel and himself emmigrated to the United States.




Grandson of Daniel Lamont.

Son of shoe manufacturer Thomas Lamont 1826-1888 and Elizabeth Pollock 1828-1876 of Scotland. His parents however were both born in Ireland.
