PETERSBURG - Helen L. Jurgens, 89, of Petersburg passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at 9:45 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on February 11, 1921, in Ashland to William and Emma Leinberger Jurgens.
She is survived by two brothers, Walter (Janet) Jurgens of Petersburg and Harold (Sandra) Jurgens of Ashland.
Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.
She had worked as a teacher. She had also worked at Franklin Life Insurance Company, and later retired from the state of Illinois. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 26, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Rev. Emeritus Dr. Michael Strong and Pastor Donald Pritchard will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield or Sunny Acres Home.
