Retired licensed practical nurse Cecil Edith Blackwood, 93, of Paris died Tuesday, May 17, 2010, at Henry County Medical Center.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McEvoy Funeral Home. Alan Trull will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and after noon Thursday.
Born in Henry County on Oct. 24, 1916, she was a daughter of the late William Talmadge and Maude Forrester Wilkinson.
She was married on Jan. 19, 1947, to Joseph Earl Blackwood, who died March 16, 1992.
Blackwood was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She retired as an LPN in 1972 from Oak Manor Nursing Home in McKenzie. She was a life member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
She leaves one daughter, Sandra Williams of Tennessee; one sister, Maudean Matheny of Paris; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Bomar; and four brothers: Edward Wilkinson, Dorris “Pete” Wilkinson and twins, Ralph and Russell Wilkinson, who died infancy.
Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 409 N. Wilson St., Paris or the Sanders Senior Citizens Center, 715 S. Market St., Paris.
