Abilene Reporter-News, Saturday Morning, December 7, 1974, Page 43, Column 6 - "Mrs. Hardwick - STEPHENVILLE (RNS) - Mrs. Nora Ethel Hardwick, 86, of Stephenville, died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday in Stephenville Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Moran. -- The Rev. Noah Philips, Fort Worth minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Dennis Cemetery, south of Moran, directed by Stephenville Funeral Home. -- Born Nora Ethel Adair on March 27, 1888 in Bone (Boone) County, Ark., she married Chester E. Hardwick on Jan. 20, 1908 in Baird. He died Feb. 4, 1954. -- Mrs. Hardwick was a member of First Baptist Church here. She moved from Moran to Stephenville 35 years ago. -- Survivors are two sons, Billy of Springtown and Jack of Mineral Wells; two daughters, Mrs. Eldean Thomas of Stephenville and Mrs. Mary Frances Matelan of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. -- One daughter, Madell, died as an infant."
