Nora and John also raised their granddaughter Leetie Mae, upon the early death of their daughter Paralee. Leetie is Mrs. Thomas Sanders, as mentioned in Nora's obituary.
After 46 yrs of marriage, John died in 1938. Upon his death, Nora lived a short time with son Odell in Yell Co AR and then with son Leo in San Diego Co CA.
About 1956, Nora moved to Casa Grande, Pinal Co AZ to live with son Acie. It was there in 1962 that she passed away.
Obituary:
"Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at Trinity Southern Baptist Church for Mrs. Susan L. Armstrong, 88, who died Saturday in Pinal General Hospital, Florence. Rev. Jack Adkinson officiated.
Born June 9, 1874 in Aly, Arkansas, Mrs. Armstrong came to Casa Grande some six years ago to reside with her son, Acie, who survives her, at his Selma Road home.
Survivors include two other sons, Odell, of Lyford, Texas, and Leo, of Poway, California; her daughters, Mrs. Alpha Tedder, of Clarksville, Arkansas, and Mrs. Thomas Sanders, of Casa Grande; her brother, Jim Barnes, of Paris, Texas; 28 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery."
