There is very little family history about John. Most everyone who knew him is now gone as well. If he was anything like the Armstrong men preceding him, he was a tall, big man with sparkling light eyes. A sister died at age 11 yrs, leaving John the eldest. He married Nora soon after his 21st birthday and their first child was born ten months later. They farmed land, mostly in Yell Co AR, later moving for a short time to Pittsburg Co OK. As with most families of the time and area, farming was the foremost means of support.

Many thanks to N Winters for the picture of John's tombstone. John's grandson, the father of my three daughters, is very grateful. Thank you to Leo and Meck's daughter Margie, for the picture of this sweet couple.
John is my daughters' paternal Gr-Grandfather.
