J. A. Davis, Lanett Citizen, Died Thursday
Mr. J. A. Davis, a former citizen of LaFayette, died at the hospital at Langdale last Thursday night. Mr. Davis was employed by Batson & Cook at West Point. On May 29th he became entangled in a belt causing him to fall and break a leg and otherwise inflicting serious injuries. Last Thursday it became necessary to amputate the broken limb, and he died from the operation. He is survived by his wife, daughter and mother, of Lanett; two brothers, A. E. Davis, of Chilton County, and W. T. Davis, of Colorado; two sisters, Mrs. J. B. Messer and Mrs. O. G. Moore, both of LaFayette. The funeral was held at Lanett Methodist Church Saturday afternoon and interment was at Sandy Ridge.
