BLOOMER - Anthony E. Kollwitz, age 85, passed away Friday, March 13, 2009, at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer.
He was born Nov. 18, 1923, in Bloomer to John and Sarah (Gunn) Kollwitz. He was married to Gladys Calkins, and later divorced. He served in the Marines during World War II, and worked as a dairy farmer and a construction worker. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by three sons, Mark (Tina) Kollwitz, Tim Kollwitz and Dan Kollwitz, all of New Auburn; four daughters, Cheryl Schultz of Birchwood, Julie Hall, Patricia Nehring and Emily (Phil) Jones, all of Chippewa Falls; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Allan; two sisters, Ada and Erma; two infant brothers.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with David W. Olson officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Bloomer Cemetery in the spring. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
