Hazel L. (Clark) Shaner, 86, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, in Newburyport. She was the wife of the late Richard B. Shaner.
She was born in Portland, Maine, on July 17, 1918, the daughter of the late George T. and Divola (Orcutt) Clark.
Mrs. Shaner was employed as an executive secretary with Arthur D. Little in Cambridge.
She was a member of Hancock Church in Lexington, and a member of ?Round-About.?
Mrs. Shaner enjoyed gardening, knitting and reading.
She is survived by a son, Richard C. Shaner and his wife, Mary, of Hull; three daughters, Carolyn S. Ruggiero and her husband, Frank, of Plattekill, N.Y., Janet S. O?Brien and her husband, Mark, of Danville, Vt., and Alison S. Szabo and her husband, Stephen, of Merrimac; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her beloved dog, Katy.
Following cremation, interment will take place in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
