NEW CUMBERLAND - June "Evalyn" Brandon, 76, of New Cumberland, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009.

Born Nov. 12, 1932, in Midland, Pa., a daughter of the late Herman Farance and Mabel "McConnell" Wilkinson.

Evalyn formerly worked as a detective's secretary for the Murfrees Borough Police Dept. of Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant children and a sister, Dorothy Welch.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew Jack Brandon at home; a son, Bruce (Debbie) Walker of New Cumberland; a daughter, Betsy (Jeff) Adams of Newell; a stepdaughter, Donna Brandon of Georgia; two stepsons, Andrew and Floyd Brandon of Georgia; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rita Spencer of Florida and Arlene (Glenn) Mathess of Wellsville.

Friends will be received tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, with Pastor Steve Cummings officiating. Interment will follow in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell.
