Charles Smith, 81 Dies in Hospital.
Charles Smith, 81, died Thursday after a long illness at an Arkansas City, Kan., hospital. He was a farmer and stockman in Douglass and Atlanta, Kan.
Mr. Smith was born Oct. 14, 1880, at Atlanta, Kan., to John and Mary Smith. He married Ethel Taylor in 1906. She died in 1953.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Benge, Arkansas City, Mrs. Lawrence Cox, 3453 South Gold, Mrs. Audrey Glaves, 544 S. Holyoke; two sons, William, 544 S. Holyoke, J. T., Pineville, Mo.; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hilyard Funeral Home, Douglass, with the Rev. Marvin Zimmerman officiating.
Burial will be in Douglass Cemetery.
