Abel Campos, a San Benito County resident for more than 40 years, died Saturday, October 20 at the age of 52. Mr. Campos was an avid soccer player and coached the boys and girls soccer teams at Spring Grove School. He also played on and was a coach for a Hollister soccer team. Mr. Campos was a bus driver for the North County School District and worked as a maintenance employee for Spring Grove School. Mr. Campos is survived by his daughter and her husband Marisa and Ralph Palacio of Salinas, son Ariel Campos of Northridge, daughter Tina Campos of Hollister, parents Ausencio and Rita Campos of Hollister, sisters Marina Campos, Blanca Overpeck, Gloria Campos, Laura Orona and Abelina Campos, brothers Joe Campos, William Campos and Daniel Campos as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral was Tuesday at noon in the chapel of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. Burial and graveside services followed at Calvary Cemetery in Hollister.
