Information and photos of her mother's (Abigail Borton's) family bible may be found on a free site (rootsweb.com).
Sarah married Harrison Sloop around 1868 in Paris, Illinois. On May 7, 1878 Harrison, Sarah, and family joined a covered wagon train pulled by mules under wagonmaster Mike Riddle on the Oregon Trail. They arrived in Knappa, Oregon the first part of September 1878. Their children were Beecher, Grant, Clifton, Bunyan, Ralph, Albert, Matilda, Lydia, Rachel, Ruth, Elton, and Elizabeth.
Family records state that she, as well as her husband, were school teachers.
Although Sarah's name is spelled "Sarrah" on her tombstone, I find no other records with that spelling. Her birth, as recorded in the family bible, has her name spelled Sarah.
