"MRS LELA BYBEE DIES ON SUNDAY, RITES WEDNESDAY
Funeral services for Mrs Lela Bybee, 85, who died Sunday at the Johnson County Mem Hospital were held Wednesday from Adams Funeral Home with the Rev Larry Johnson officiating and with burial in Willow Grove Cemetery.
She was born Aug 15, 1886 in MO and came to Iron Mountain at the age of 4 months with her parents. The family then moved to Kaycee in 1890 and Mrs Bybee married Thomas R Bybee there in 1906. They ranched near Kaycee until 1950 and moved to Buffalo. Her husband died in Dec of 1971.
Survivors include three sons; Frank and Gordon of Buffalo and Wayne of Lander; three daughters; Carol Turk, Doris Gilbert and Pearl Buell, all of Buffalo; 25 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Two daughters preceded her in death.
Active pall bearers were Rex Yeigh, Eddie James, Pete Christensen, Bill Leibee, Jr, Jack Thompson, and Herman Christensen. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Roland Streeter, Russell Worf, Dan Koch, Alton Lund, Walter Elm and Henry Jones."
