Also surviving are two stepsons; one stepdaughter; 12 step grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris (Nobla) Gray and Dorothy (Gene) Mason, both of Marengo, Ind.; and Donna Meints, Fairbury; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Lady.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, one stepson, one step granddaughter and two step great-grandchildren.
He served our country in the Army for two terms during World War II and the Korean War.
Shorty was an industrial welder for various companies for more than 30 years.
He enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and driving stock cars.
He was a member of the Chatsworth American Legion Post 613.
