Alexander and Eliza Ann migrated with their children from Iowa to Chase County, Nebraska in the late 1880's. Their children were: Sherman Day, James A. Day, Lewis F. (Louis) Day, John William "William" Day, Estella "Etta" Day, Charlie Day (d. young in Iowa), Mary Day, Bertha E. Day (married John T. Calkins), Walter Samuel Day and Ernest A. Day.
They farmed in Monroe County, Iowa for almost 20 years and in Chase County, Nebraska for about the same amount of time. Alexander and Eliza Ann Day both died in Chase County, Nebraska. Eliza died at the home of their son William (John William Day).
Both Alexander and Eliza Ann are buried in Lamar Cemetery. Larmar Cemetery is also known as Mount Tabor Cemetery and Greenlawn Cemetery.
