Lauteria was born on October 18, 1900 in Cubero, New Mexico to Alfejo and Antonia Perea Montano. She married Santiago Romero and later relocated to Winslow, Arizona where she passed away on February 14, 1928. Her husband, Santiago was enroute to the hospital to see her and passed away due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. They are survived by their children; Reyes Romero and Ruma Romero Baca.
