Mrs. Irene Bohlscheid, 78, Pocatello Heights, a long-time Pocatello resident and retired high school teacher, died Saturday in the Bannock Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept 10, 1903 at Argenta, IL, to Peter J. and Maude Brennan Costello.

She moved to Twin Falls with her parents in 1906 graduating from the Twin Falls High School and from the University of Idaho at Moscow.

She married Curtis L. Bohlscheid Aug 19, 1932, in Twin Falls, and was employed in a Twin Falls Bank for several years. They moved to Pocatello about 1940, where he was manager of the Westcott Oil Co. He died Jan 9, 1970. Mrs. Bohlscheid taught in the commercial department of Pocatello High School for many years.

She was a member of the Espiscopal Parish of the Holy Trinity Church, the Episcopal Altar Guild and Ruth Chapter No. 3, Order of Eastern Star, a long-time volunteer member of the Bannock Memorial Hospital; an active member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, a past officer of the AART and the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority.

Mrs. Bohlscheid is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Judy Bohlscheid Burke, San Francisco, CA; a grandson, Jeffri Bohlscheid, San Diego, CA; a granddaugher, Marni Bohlscheid, San Francisco, CA; two nephews, Hal C. Bohlscheid, Pocatello and Bill Bohlscheid, Alaska, three nieces, Betty Daley; Margaret Nubrand and Shirley Young, all of Boise. She was preceded in death by a son, Captain Richard Bohlscheid, killed in Viet Nam, Jun 1, 1967, and by two sisters.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Episcopal Parish of the Holy Trinity and Saint Andrew Church, 248 North Arthur, with the Rev. Robert D. Spencer officiating.
Following cremation, services, burial will be in the family plot in Mountainview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Henderson Funeral Home, 431 North 15th until time of the service.
