John H Carmany, 83, resident of Manchester, died Wednesday, Nov 24, 1999 at Barberton Citizens Hospital.
John was born Feb 10, 1916 in Manchester to the late Elizabeth Gray and Harry Carmany. He retired with 38 years service at Morton Salt in Rittman, Ohio, and had served with the 99th Signal Co in WWII, having participated in the Battle of the Bulge.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie (Dickerhoof) Carmany; sons and daughters-in-law, James (Barbara) and Thomas (Judith); brothers, Harry (Helena), William (Loretta) and Bruce (Janet) Carmany; sister, Elizabeth Jane (Wayne) Hudkins; grandchildren, James Jr, John, Jacob, Patricia (Douglas) Orahood, Shannon; great-grandchild, Haylee Carmany.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11am, at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home (Route 93, Canal Fulton), Dr Paul Dunn officiating. Burial at Manchester Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
