Mrs Elizabeth Abate, 80, died at her residence at 2002 Winterhalter St. at 3:40 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be from St. Henry Catholic Church at 3 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home.
A rosary will be said at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. today.
A native of Sicily, Mrs. Abate had resided here for 65 years. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.
She is survived by four sons, Roy Abate of Lake Charles, Jack Abate of Port Arthur, Tex., Phillip Abate of Abbeville and Sam Abate of Alexandria; six daughters, Mrs. Josephine Pavea of Port Arthur, Mrs. Rita Perricone of Beaumont, Tex, and Mrs Rose Tommasi, Mrs. Ellen Baglio, Mrs. Jennie Ange, and Mrs. Mary Trahan, all of Lake Charles.
And three step-daughters, Mrs. Lena Gengo and Mrs Bessie Rizzio, both of Alexandria, and Mrs. Katie Rowe of Beaumont; 29 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Grandsons will act as pallbearers.
