Like his immigrant father before him, Nikolai came to America and worked in the Rocklin quarries. He eventually went into business with Victor Wickman (Alexson and Company) and produced finished cut granite for monuments and mausoleums. He and his wife Edna were the parents of two children, Eugene and Betty. Sadly, Nikolai fell to his death at the age of 39 while working at a quarry operation.
