ALLEN, Nathan Jr. was born August 8, 1802 in Brookfield Township, Orange County, Vermont the son of Nathan Allen and Esther Paine. He married Sally Randall May 12, 1831 in Geuaga, Ohio. They had two sons, Ethan and Omar Henry. They moved from Ohio to Illinois in 1834 and Sally died shortly thereafter in Barbers Corners (Bolingbrook). Nathan then moved to Naperville in 1835 and married Elizabeth H. S. Jones and they were the parents of an adopted daughter, Kate A. Ellen (William T. Johnson). Nathan and Elizabeth moved to Chicago in 1852. Elizabeth died in 1859 and Nathan then married Martha Muzzy about 1860. He was a lawyer and one of the earliest DuPage County Judges, serving from 1843 to 1846 and again from 1849 to 1851. He was raised a Master Mason in Franklin Lodge No. 10, St. Albans, Franklin County, Vermont and was a Charter Member of Euclid Lodge No. 65 and its first Junior Warden. He was exalted a Royal Arch Mason on July 28, 1851. He died November 7, 1875, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois and was buried in the Naperville Cemetery.
