Robert was an Early Methodist Preacher in Lunenburg, Essex Co., Vt. He was "affectionately called in his own neighborhood, "Father McKoy."" He received his first "appointment from Bishop Hedding."

Robert was the son of Charles and Nancy (Dickey) McKoy. Brother of John McKoy, David McKoy, Mary McKoy who married John Wilson, William McKoy who married Sally Weaver, and George McKoy. He married Anna Wilson (1772-1841) c-1794 in Nova Scotia and had 11 children all born in Lunenburg, Essex Co., Vt. William McKoy, John McKoy, Hannah Wilson McKoy, Charles Wilson McKoy, Mary B. McKoy, David McKoy, Robert McKoy, Robert McKoy again, Anna McKoy, Sarah Ann McKoy, and Hubbard Wilson McKoy. Robert married second, Dec. 6, 1842, Mary Wilson (1770-1853) in Concord, Essex Co., Vt.

I found this while on Vacation in 1981 in the Cobleigh Library in Lyndon, Vermont. (917.4)
"Robert McKoy came to America, was shipwrecked on the voyage, at which time one of his brothers was lost, and landed at Nova Scotia. He married Anna Wilson, moved to Lunenburgh, and after many years came to Lyndon, locating on the place where Henry Kilby now lives, where he died at the age of eighty-four years. He reared nine children. His son Charles W. married Rebecca H., daughter of Deacon Joseph Gleason, of Lunenburgh, Vt. and died May 19, 1883, aged eighty-two years. His widow resides in this town."
