Robert McKoy was in Calif. as early as 1854... probably as early as 1850 with his brother Hubbard Wilson McKoy in Georgetown... his name was on a "List of letter remaining in the Sacramento Post Office for the month of October, 1854."

He was on the Great Voting Register from El Dorado Co., from 1867 to 1872, Res. at Georgtown, born in Vt. and listed as a Farmer.
In the 1860 Census was living at Big Bar, El Dorado Co., Calif.
In the 1870 Census was living at Georgetown, El Dorado Co., Calif.
In the 1880 Census only his wife is listed in Georgetown, El Dorado Co., Calif., living with her son-in-law Samuel Taylor and his wife, her daughter, Viola A. (McKoy) Taylor.
Note: He died before June 3, 1880 and was buried at Mount Gregory Placer, El Dorado Co., Calif. - Latitude & Longitude (WGS84): 38° 59' 25'' North , 120° 45' 23'' West - off Volcanoville Rd. bet. Cecil Ln. & Cassill Mine Rd.
