Michael emmigrated from Ireland around 1868 with wife Maria and children Agnes (Bridget), Richard and James. His first wife passed away within a year. By his second wife, Bridget Griffin Cline, Michael had 5 more children, many buried in St. John Cemetery. Michael was a Stone Mason by trade and was reported by family members as having worked on the Brooklyn Bridge in the late 1880's.
It is confusing if Michael was born in 1830 or 1838. He was listed as age 40 in 1870 census. In the same census, Michael is living with another stone mason named Thomas Clynes. Since he was slightly younger we assume he was a brother or cousin. Thomas had a young son named Thomas. The Bridget (aka Agnes) in the census is likely his daughter Agnes who married Alexander Morrison. We have lost all connection to Thomas.
