6 Dec 1932: Jonathan Swope, president of the First National Bank, Fredericksburg, and a resident of Frystown, died at his home shortly after noon today. He had reached the age of 83 years last Saturday. For a number of years, he was the propietor of a store in Frystown. His wife, Rebecca Behney Swope, preceded him in death seventeen years ago. He leaves to survive one son, D. Augustus Swope of Frystown, with whom he made his home. Also surviving are two brothers, Daniel & Jacob, of Bethel; and three sisters, Mrs. John Frank, of Myerstown; Mrs. Amanda Benzing, of Hamlin; and Kate Swope, of Bethel. [Lebanon Daily News]
