Florissant - Funeral service for Hazel Strickland of Florissant will be held today at Parker Road Baptist Church in Florissant. Burial will be Wednesday at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Mrs. Strickland, 77 years old, died Monday, July 24, 2000, at her home.
She was born Dec. 4, 1922, in Stoddard County, daughter of Robert and Hallie Shelby. She and Marion Strickland were married Nov. 21, 1942. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Robert Strickland; two daughters, Joyce Strickland and Linda Simon; a brother, Robert Shelby; six sisters, Dora Bomar, Maxine Hill, Joy Honig, Freeda Kinsey, Verna Scheffer and Jo Whitehead; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
