Presley Okeefe Eakin was born in Hale County Texas, the son of John Perry and Mary Elizabeth Monsey Eakin. He graduated from high school in Pioneer TX in 1940 and enlisted in the US Navy. Most of his service was in the Aluetian Islands.
In 1944 he married Jimmie Barton, who served in the US Army. She died in 1999.
The couple moved to Phillips Texas where O'Keefe worked for Phillips Oil Company for forty years.
He moved to Chatsworth Georgia in 1999 to be near his daughter and was living there at the time of his death.
O'Keefe had three daughters: Sharan, deceased, Phyllis Eakin Gaddy and Teresa Eakin O'Neal. He had two brothers, Ward Eakin and John Eakin as well as three sisters; Coila Eakin, Eva Eakin Hoover and Mary Eakin Cantrell and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson.
