Benjamin is the son of John and Abigail (Cram) Batchelder. He was christened on 26 October 1735 in Hampton Falls. He married Dorothy in Hampton Falls c1762.

Much is written about Benjamin by Charles Batchelder. He was a farmer by occupation, and he owned a sawmill. He served in the French and Indian War. There is no record of the marriage of Benjamin and Dorothy, but Batchelder says that family tradition places the marriage in Deerfield, N.H. Benjamin and Dorothy had ten children born in Candia, N.H. They first lived in Kensington until 1762 then in Candia from 1763 until 1812 and finally Andover.

I have come across several birth dates and places for Benjamin, probably because there were so many Banjamins.

From the uncertain sources I have visited I have come up with this tentative list of children. Remember nothing here is etched in stone but may be a start for further research.

•Odlin Prescott who was born September 16, 1775. He married Huldah Searle
•John who was born 1765 and died between 1802 and 1804 in Vermont
•Robinson.
•Sarah.
•Zeriah who was born 1777 and died February 10, 1862 æ 85 in Holliston, Middlesex co, MA. In the Holliston birth records on p166, there is an unnamed child born in 1777 to Edmond and Zeriah Buzzell. ??? Hmmmm.
•Nathan who was born 1776.
