Pearle graduated from Gillespie-Selden Institute in Cordele. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Fisk University, her first Master's Degree in Music Education from Alabama State University, her second Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Tuskegee University, and her Education Specialist Degree from Valdosta State University.
Her professional career began as an English and Humanities teacher and choral director at Holsey-Cobb Institute. Over the years she taught English and music and served as guidance counselor and choral director at A.S. Clark (then) High School, Southwestern Girls School, and A.S. Clark and Crisp County Middle Schools. In 2002, she retired from the Crisp County School System after 42 years of faithful and dedicated service.
She also offered private music lessons for over 40 years.
Pearle was active in numerous professional and civic organizations, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Links, Inc., Cordele Housing Authority Board, Agilis Board, Georgia School Counselors Association, Georgia Retired Teachers Association, Crisp County Retired Teachers Association, and the National Education Association.
Pearle has been a member of Cordele's St Paul Presbyterian Church since childhood. Over the years she served in various capacities including clerk of the Church Session, ruling elder, organist, and delegate to the General Assembly of the Flint River Presbytery.
Pearle fervently believed in the self-worth of every human being; her middle name could have been "SERVICE" so dedicated was she to the service of mankind. She did as GOD commanded each of us: she fed the elderly and hungry - for many years each Sunday, personally delivering plates of food. She clothed the naked, comforted the sick, and provided shelter for the homeless. Pearle helped hundreds of students complete college applications and financial aid forms. She was not boastful in doing GOD's work: she quietly paid application fees, purchased books, personal items, physically transported students to college, and continued to give them financial support, mentoring, and encouragement.Pearle completed her earthly journey knowing she was loved, valued, and respected. She will be missed, but her spirit will live in the hearts of those who knew her and in the lives of those she touched and irrevocably changed.
