Leona H. Wilson, age 93 of Fremont, formerly of Wahoo, died Monday, October 15 in Fremont. She was born August 17, 1914 at Bristow, NE to Emil and Albina (Hambek) Milacek. She grew up on the family farm and, at a young age, became expert at working horses, plowing fields and performing other farm duties. Her love of the outdoors continued into her adult life. Leona planted and tended a large garden each year and took joy in using the garden produce in the meals she prepared for her family. She also enjoyed baking, especially cookies and zucchini bread, and was well known for her ham and bean soup which no one has ever been able to replicate. An all around good person, Leona adored her 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great grandchildren and, even in her later years, could recall from memory the birth date of each one along with other personal details. In addition to spending time with her family, Leona regularly played cards with a group of friends, sewed, embroidered, and painted. She maintained an active life even after moving to the Merrick Manor a year ago.

As a young woman, Leona married Thomas Pritchett. Together they had six children. Following Thomas' death, Leona met and married Steven Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, daughters Arbutus Tweedy and Loretta Person, and one grandchild.

Leona is survived by two sons and two daughters; sisters Mamie Marsik and Agnes Wittler, both of Omaha; brothers and sisters-in-law Joe and Emily Milacek of Spencer, NE and Emil and Janet Milacek of Ina Grove, MN; 8 step-children; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 20 at the First United Methodist Church in Wahoo with the Rev. Douglas Smith officiating. Interment will be at Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo. Memorials are requested to Family's Choice.
