Jeanette Winkcompleck Clemons was called to join the angels, ending her battle with cancer. Each of Jeanette's 55 years was lived with a vigor, zest, and grace. Jeanette was born in Cushing, Oklahoma, the third child of Robert and Geneva Winkcompleck. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dr. Gary Winkcompleck. Jeanette is survived by her husband of 31 years, Dr. John Clemons, children Natalie and Nicholas Clemons, her sister Sandy Grills, twin brother Gene Winkcompleck and a host of loving extended family and friends. Jeanette was a graduate of Midwest City High School where she was later inducted into the MCHS Hall of Fame. Following the completion of her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Speech Language Pathology at Oklahoma State University, she became a leader in her field, first serving as the founding Director of the Guthrie Scottish Rite Childhood Aphasia Clinic, followed by years of extraordinary work with stroke patients and those with voice disorders at Midwest Regional Medical Center. She was a founding member of the Oklahoma Academy of Medical Speech-Language Pathologists, where she served as president 1999-2000. At OSU she was an active member and Vice President of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, President of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Little Sisters of Minerva, member of Dean's and President's Honor Rolls, Graduate Assistant, and Outstanding Graduate Student. Jeanette was extremely active in the First Christian Church of Midwest City, serving as Deacon, youth leader, chairman of multiple committees, and Sunday school teacher. Jeanette enjoyed scuba diving, traveling with her family and fitness activities including yoga, aerobics and skiing. To Jeanette, all were friends and family. She loved entertaining in her home and was a perfect hostess, ensuring that none left hungry or thirsty. She showed her greatest love while holding a baby. She had a contagious generosity and a boundless love for all. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 14 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service, 305 South Sooner Road, Midwest City. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 15 at 10:00 a.m. at the Meadowood Baptist Church, 2816 North Woodcrest Drive, Midwest City. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Fairlawn Cemetery on East Sixth Street in Stillwater. For those interested, memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Midwest City or to the Jeanette Clemons Midwest City High School Scholarship Fund.
