Infant Twin 2 of Josie Saunders.

Here is a fish story for someone, and by that I mean something fishy happened, or someone knows if this was a Landers, or Sanders.

My questioning began with a listing on Landers, Inf/o Josie died -8 Feb 1888 no age listed.
a few names down, Saunders, Inf/o died-25 Mar 1888 ae 1 mo
these are on page 473 of the Greene County Cemeteries Vol. IX Book 3 of 3 Hazelwood Cemetery by Ozark Genealogical Society.
The question began by contacting the lady at Hazelwood for what records she had for these two listings, and this is the answer that I got.

Josie Landers dod 2/8/1888, says infant, found dead north of the city.
Infant of Josie Saunders dod 3/25/1888, 1 month old infant, found dead north of city.
I'm not fully convinced that this isn't just 1 baby….the only thing holding me back is the different dates. I do have both infants listed in our OLD interment book….but isn't this just a little fishy….both found dead north of city, and Saunders and Landers sound an awful lot alike?? Did they have death certificates on babies that long ago????

This caused me to do a search to see if I might find any Josie Saunders in Springfield, MO. or even in MO. at all with census, or other.
Ancestry seaching brought me the followin and the reason for my conclusion.
I think this is twins, born the Feb. 8, 1888 date, or within a day or two. The one did not live and she did not have any means of burying the child and was abdoned to be found so it could be buried.
Then a month later, this child Mar. 25, 1888 listed one month old. This was date of death.
I am now listing these children as Infants of Josie Saunders born Feb. 8, 1888 and dod for the one same day, and dod for the other the Mar. 25, 1888 date.
I welcome any information that may help this. This is not my family and I would be very happy to transfer to the family member should they come forward.
This census comes up and it is just my thought this comes so very close and gives me a good time span. The twin children could place correctly in the births of her children between Mabel and Richard.
Not proved, just some old fashioned gut instinct, and that has been proved wrong before.
